Last night I had the opportunity to have a home-cooked dinner in a friend’s home.
As in the past, the menu was organic and very delicious. It was after dinner that brought to marvel at the atmosphere. We never left the table for a couple of hours. There was no rising up to clear the table of remaining food and dishes.
We sat comfortably and had conversations on several interesting topics; one being that conversation in at least a decade, as well as, from covid isolation, had been missing in our country and those around the world.
We came to agree that conversation after a meal and even during a meal was interrupted by screen time devices.
What also made this evening of sharing thoughts, ideas, and simple sharing was the laughter that carried throughout. In my world decades ago, conversation after a meal was commonplace and most enjoyable.
Thus, I would like to encourage my readers to have a dinner that shares as we did last night. In my world, we used to call this “Sunday Dinner.” Family within and those in the area looked forward to the “Sunday Dinner.” Leave your technology devices for a few hours in another room out of sight and enjoy an old-fashioned meal and conversation.
In recent years, I have written three romance literature historical fiction novels that take you on a journey of self-discovery and relationships.
I don’t follow a romance recipe. My focus is to be creative and different!
This makes my storytelling stand out in the crowd!
Take a break from screen time. Find a comfortable chair in a quiet place and read as you "turn the page."
